It is a good thing I like cookbooks because they are getting a workout this week and into next week. Tomorrow night is craft night at church and we all bring a snack to share. I found a recipe for oatmeal butterscotch cookies; I will take some to church and the rest will be left at home for my cookie monsters. I signed up to bring homemade baked goods to church for some fellowship time after the service on Sunday. That means I will be spending some time Saturday baking. Lots of baking, probably three or four cakes, batches of cookies or quick breads; depending on what I find that looks like something new and fun to bake. I volunteered to make the main course for a community dinner at our local food pantry on Tuesday. I think I am going to make shredded beef sandwiches that I found in my 2001 Taste of Home cookbook. I have way more cookbooks than a person needs, but at least I can say that I am using them this week! I almost forgot, Sunday night Senior High Bible Study is at our house. That means doing some cooking or baking for five or ten students. I haven’t even thought about what to make for them yet.
All of this going on, plus I start a new part time job on Monday! Who says winter is dragging on? It is flying by! Or maybe I am just flying through it!
Wow, Candy. You will be a busy girl! Congrats on the job! :) And I think the shredded beef sounds great for the dinner. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteHey Bug, in your spare time do you want to come down and cook or clean for me?? Seems like you're the only one I know with that kind of energy. WOW! Marv & I were just this morning trying to figure out what was making us so sluggish this winter. Shame on us! Maybe if I forced myself to bake and cook more we could stay busy eating? 'Spose that would keep us busy all winter and in good shape? Have fun with your new job. I'm sure you'll have them straightened out in no time.
