Anyone Want A Sandwich?

I made it through both baseball games Saturday, but man was it cold! Dan and I took a quick break to get warmed up between the games. We went to one of the fancy coffee shops in town for a huge cup of hot chocolate. I did have a good laugh just before I left for the games, though. The King had to be there an hour before the games started, so he already knew just how chilly out it was. He called me at home just as I was leaving to ask me if we had any hand or foot warmers, any thing for the pitchers to use to help keep their hands warm. I did not think we had any, I remembered opening the last pack up one day when we were going ice fishing. He told me to check the pockets of his ice fishing jacket. I did not look in the pockets, just dug around in there, and what did I find but half of a sandwich that was quite old looking! I do not remember exactly when the last time was he went ice fishing, but it has been awhile. I'm assuming he was in the middle of eating and a flag went off on one of his tip ups, so he just shoved the sandwich back in his pocket, got the fish (or missed the fish), reset the tip up and never gave the sandwich another thought. After I carefully disposed of that treat, I did find some hand warmers.

Now I get to clean out the grandma car! The King drives thirty miles one way every day for work. To help save some cash, Marv found us a car that got much better gas mileage than his pick up, which the King drove to work and back for a couple of years. The Princess is getting ready for a car of her own. We told her she could buy herself a car or we would give her the grandma car. Being the smart one that she is, she decided to drive the grandma car and use her money for gas, insurance and all that other fun stuff. The car has not been driven for several months now, I don't even know what all is living in there. Hopefully not too many half eaten sandwiches!

I will be praying for God to protect her while she is driving. This is new stuff for me, having your child out cruisin' the country side. I think I have spent more time in our van than in the house the last few years driving the kids around. It will be nice for her to be able to drive herself around and experience a little more freedom and responsibility; while giving me more reason and time to pray!
