Sunday Afternoon

Yesterday after church, the Princess was making plans with some friends from church. When we got home she asked if we wanted to go sledding. Everybody likes to go sledding, right? The Princess, Trucker and I took off to go pick up two others who wanted to go sliding and then we met another friend at the hill. It took us a little longer to get to the hill than we originally planned on because I got stuck turning around in a driveway. I was turning around in a driveway because after we left the friends' house, we realized we didn't think to grab their sleds! With the Princess, Trucker, T. and W. pushing, W. thinking to put some branches by the tires for traction (good thinking W) we were able to get unstuck, went back to their house for the sleds, then got to the hill for some fun sledding. The Princess was using my boots and snow pants, so I did not partake in the sledding fun. I was able to park at the bottom of the hill and watch, though. I don't know who had more fun, me watching them or them actually doing the sliding.

There were two other families with young children (maybe 3 - 7 years old) enjoying the day also. I thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon sitting in the van listening to the yells and hollers of our teens and the squeals of the young children.

In the evening I went to church to pick up Trucker and the Princess from Bible study. Some frieds were there and just happened to have a deck of cards with them. Mark and I beat Lora and Trucker at Smear. (Is that how you spell it, Lora?) Maybe Mark and I lost, who was keeping track?!!

What better way is there to spend a Sunday? Start the day out at church with a service celebrating how God has worked in our church during 2008, eat a potluck lunch at church, listen to some little tykes and teens sliding and playing cards with friends to finish the day. Thanks Mark and Lora!
