If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and He will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. James 1:5 nlt
I like this verse for two reasons. Number 1 reason: I can ask God for wisdom in any and all areas that I want. Number 2 reason: He will not rebuke me for asking. He won't think it is stupid of me to need His help. No matter how trivial or how big a situation is, He wants me to ask Him for His help. Actually, I don't think I should even say "trivial", I don't think any thing is trivial to Him. And I know that there is nothing to big for Him! It gives me a warm feeling inside whenever the Princess or Trucker come to me for help, whether it is with school work, a problem with friends or a project they are working on. It does not matter to me what they need my help with, I am glad they asked me and I want to help them. I think that is how God is with us! Several times a week I ask Him for wisdom in raising the Princess and Trucker. I want wisdom in how to love and discipline them. I want wisdom in how to make them into God-fearing, law abiding, responsible adults. I also ask for wisdom in setting a Godly example for them as to what a God-fearing, law abiding, responsible adult should look and act like. Sometimes I do well in this department and sometimes I blow it completely. Then I need to pray and ask for wisdom again.
Last night I was hoping to finish a table runner that I am making, but I hosed up the binding. When I got the runner done, I was going to have the Princess take a picture of it and show it to the rest of you. You know what they say about the best layed plans! Today I get to rip the binding out and start over again. Woohoo! If I do get the binding right today and finish the table runner I will post a picture for you in the next couple of days. Yes, Mom, then I will be finishing your quilt. Unless I see something else I want to start. Just kidding!
Since I could not show you a picture of a table runner today, I picked another picture that I like. My Mom took this picture out of our living room window last winter. I love snow pictures! Mom likes to take pictures and I like to look at pictures. I will be sharing some of them with you Blog people in future posts!
If I couldn't ask God for wisdom, I would be completely lost. All the time.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder and hope that runner-finishing goes well. Can't wait to see a picture!
Hey Bug, maybe I should have prayed for more wisdom on how to teach you to stay on task. But that's a guy thing, I guess. Women are more multie taskers. And you are good at that! I don't know how you keep up with your schedule some times, really any times. I know my quilt will get done sometime, even if I need to come up and help with it??
ReplyDeleteLovely post ... and I so enjoy the banter between you and your mom. Sounds like my mom and I, too! Looking forward to seeing your runner.
