Annual AWANA Ice Fishing Jamboree

pics courtesy of the Princess

We Hill hold our annual ice fishing jamboree on Saturday, February 7th, from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm. You Hill be outside the entire time, so dress accordingly. The holes Hill already be drilled for you. We Hill provide all the ice fishing gear you Hill need and the hot chocolate. Prizes Hill be awarded!

How was that to read? That is what our church computer did to me today when I was putting this Sunday's bulletin together. Every time I typed the word "will", the computer automatically corrected it to "Hill"! Our youth pastor was kind enough to turn off the auto correct speller and the rest of the day got better. Who knows what makes these computers tick sometimes?!!

I did get the table runner done yesterday! I had to rip the binding out twice, but finally figured it out. The corners don't look as nice as my Mom's, Mother-in-law's or daughter's turn out, but that is okay. Just don't look too close! The quilt rack that it is hanging on was handmade for me by Marv this past Christmas. I don't have a quilt to hang on there yet, so I laid the runner on there for you to see it. The buffet that the runner will live on came from the King's grandparents house. I have no idea how old the buffet is, but it has been around for a long time!

I don't know if I will get a chance to blog tomorrow or not. I will be subbing in our middle school office and then going to a friend's house for a fish fry. Yum!Yum!

  1. Looks great! I'm not sewing savvy at all. Wish I were but I think I'm too old to learn a new trick. Have fun subbing at the MS- say hi to them all from us! :)

  3. Very nice job on the table runner...isn't it great when you finish a project and start planning the next one?

Can we now say you are "over the Hill"?

  4. Tab - You're never too old. Besides, think of all the neat things you and four daughters could make once you all could sew! I can already see a houseful of quilts!
Cheri - I can't take the credit for the color selection. I had a charm packet laying around and used that up for the dark colors. The tan color in there is a scrap that I bought on sale. The green binding is a scrap left over from Jessie's quilt.
Lora - I'm not as far over that hill as you are!! And for starting a new project...I have to finish another one that is sitting upstairs. My Mom's Christmas quilt!! Now to be her Easter quilt, or maybe Mother's Day quilt, or maybe next Christmas quilt!

  5. Don't even think it, Bug! I may be patient and wait til Easter, Mother's Day, or even the 4th of July, but then I put my foot down. On a certain Bug! You have a birthday coming up, don't you? Shouldn't you be a nice little Bug? And Finish My Quilt!! Please!
