Friday night I made a shopping list of needed ingredients for the King's birthday dinner. As I am grabbing the list and on my way out the door Saturday morning, I realize I forgot to put peas on the list. I laugh to myself because if I had forgotten the peas, no one would believe that it was an honest mistake. I quick write peas on the list and take off for the store.
Sunday I hurry up and make the fish stew so I can go play Apples to Apples with the Princess and a couple of girls that came over from church. In the middle of our game, I thought I better get the peas ready to cook after this round. By the time we finished our game, Grampy and Miss Joy were here. I visited with them for a little bit then checked the stew to see if it was done. It was. As we are all sitting around eating, all of a sudden I remember the peas, that are still in a bag in the freezer! Do I say any thing about them or do I keep my mouth shut and hope Steve forgot about them? I think he can read my mind because I peeked at him out of the corner of my eye, hoping he will be engrossed in his bowl and won't even think of the nasty little green vegetable that people should not eat any way. Wrong again, he is staring at me. I bust out laughing and tell him that I forgot the peas. "I noticed, wait until your birthday and see if you get your desired dinner!" It actually was an honest mistake. I just hope he forgets about it by the time my birthday rolls around. Tess made him an excellent cheesecake though, maybe I can count on her for my birthday! What do you think, Tess?
King Steve,
ReplyDeleteI'll send you all the peas you want if you send me some fresh fish!
Queen Candy said, "We don't want any stinkin' peas in this castle!" We'll see what we can do about some fish for you, though.
ReplyDeleteSure, no problem...one birthday cheesecake with peas coming up on March 10th.
