Grampy and Miss Joy took the Princess and a friend of hers to a Brewer game this weekend. They had a blast. Prince Fielder almost hit a grand slam and the Princess almost peed her pants she was so excited! I don't think that would make Grampy and Miss Joy rush to take her to another game, so I guess it is a good thing Prince didn't get his grand slam so that the Princess didn't pee her pants!

The King and I went down to Mom and Marv's. In two days we did a trip to Cabela's, took in four of my cousin's softball games, a car show and went to a Mexican Fiesta at my Aunt and Uncle's house! It was a jam packed, fun filled weekend. Thanks Mom and Marv!
That was the first long drive the King and I have been on alone in quite some time. We did a lot of talking. Well, maybe I should say I did a lot of talking. The ten hours in the car gave me nine hours and forty-five minutes of talking and gave him fifteen minutes!! We needed this time. We love our son and daughter dearly, but sometimes we need that time for just the two of us.
Time to catch up on things. Time to look to the future. It is only a little over three years away and both of our kids will be adults. I like to look ahead. I want to make sure we will still have things in common even when our kids are living on their own. I like to think about some of the things we will do when it is just the two of us. The King listened to me talk. He's not to into looking into the future. He tells me it will all fall into place when the time gets here. I hope he's right! I know he is. I guess I still like to think and talk about things we will do.
I mostly am a "here and now" kind of person. I enjoy my memories and hope I learn from things in the past, but don't dwell on them much. I look into the future more now than I ever have at any other time in my life. I think this is because the kids grow so fast. It is weird for me to think about them being adults in a few years. I still have so many things I want to do with them and teach them before they leave our little nest!
Who knows what I will think about when they move out. Will I go back to always being in the here and now, will I look backwards more or will I look to the future even more? I have to remind myself that God was here then, He is here now and He will be here forever. I need to leave things in His hands, take what He gives me and run with it!
It was a great weekend for us too, Bug. And we appreciate the help The King gave us up on the roof. Its been fretting Marv for 2 yrs. He'll have to fret about something else this winter!
ReplyDeleteAaron's games were fun. And on Sunday both, I repeat, BOTH church teams won their division of our "Just for Fun" tournament. WooHoo!! We sat thru a triple header. That's 7, count 'um, 7 softball games this weekend. That should either take care of my craving or addict me.
As to the future, half the fun of the future is in the planning. Like before a trip. Then just sit back and enjoy the ride! And if you cross a wrong bridge, well, laugh and go back. Been there, huh?
Anyway it was fun having you guys here. And you got me good with the "lost in Dundas" thing. You didn't surprise me, but you did get me. We miss you already.
