Mystery Solved!

Connie, the master gardener in our family, solved the mystery flower case for me. Thanks, Connie! It is a foxglove. She lives in southern Minnesota and can not grow them. That makes me wonder if there are different strains of them, or if there are wild ones. If they grow in my yard, with no care whatsoever, she should certainly be able to grow them. I mean, crimeneys, her yard was featured in Better Homes and Gardens a year or two ago. Her whole yard is beautiful. Even though she could identify the flower, it is still a mystery to her how I grow them!! It proves Matthew 7:28 – 30 to be true; And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. I don’t know how tall they should get, but this one is arm pit high on me. Trucker informed me that is not very tall, but I think it is pretty good for a flower.

Now I have another mystery, though. How do cobwebs know when I am coming with the broom? While laying in bed the other night, I could see that I needed to get after the corners of the ceilings to chase away a few cobwebs. When I went in there with the broom the next day, I could not see them any where! I swished the broom around in the corners, figuring it didn't matter if I could see them or not. That night when I laid in bed with the lamp on, I could see one left that I some how missed. I think they run and hide when they see the broom - and then come back out when it is safe again. Cousin Jack says that about dandelions and the lawn mower. He is convinced the dandelions all duck when the lawn mower comes by - then stand back up again when the lawn mower is no longer visible.

  1. I think you and Jack are both right! I've seen it myself, both with dandelions and cobwebs. I can add another to your list of mysteries--fat! I diet and diet and think it should be gone and poof--there it is again. Ah, the mysteries of life
Oh by the way, Connie wants a seed pod (or three)from your Foxglove.
