Little Bits

Last night we attended the high school girls softball banquet/awards night. It was great to hear the coaches say so many positive things about the girls, and focus on their academic abilities as well as their athletic achievements. Thirty girls started the season, twenty-nine finished, I had to agree with the coach when he said that says a lot about their character. Out of the thirty that started, twenty-five were on the third quarter honor roll, pretty impressive. Out of the six graduating seniors, all six are going on to college. Whether they are going to college, joining the work force or entering the armed forces - nice that they are all looking forward to the future, know what they want and are working towards it.

One of the coaches is expecting a baby later this summer. As a thank you gift, the girls gave her a onesey (onsie? onesie? you get the point!) with a softball embroidered on it and all of the girls signed it. Then each girl gave her one more onesey, she must have ended up with twelve or thirteen in all. I thought that was a pretty neat and creative idea.

My Sunday school class was surprised to hear her actual age, they thought she was in her thirties, maybe forties! I don't know if I'm allowed to say her actual age on here, but I know all of the students were wrong!

Spell check does not like any of my spellings for onesey, but couldn't offer me the word I want! Neither can my dictionary!
