All Kinds of Things

I finally got to post flower pictures! The picture did not turn out very well, but they are lilacs in our yard. I was thinking about going into town and taking a picture of someone else's flowers and just telling all of you that they were ours! Thankfully ours finally bloomed, saved me having to lie to you. Saved me taking the chance of getting arrested wandering around in strangers yards!

Lots of little fun things to blog about today. Well, they were fun to me. You'll have to let me know what you think about them!

Last night I went to watch the old timers softball game. I don't like to call it the old timers league because my husband is one of the players, and I don't like to think of him as old. Besides, there were four home runs hit last night! How can you call that the old timers league?!! Two of those home runs came from the King! He's my favorite player to watch :) There is one guy on our team who is a huge inspiration to everyone else in the league. They call him Earl the Pearl and he is 89 or 90! And he catches the whole game for us! And he got on base twice last night, smoked the ball down the third base line! I can't play softball now, but I guess there is still hope for me. Maybe by the time I am 90, I will be able too!
While we were at the game, one of our neighbors told the Trucker that there was a porcupine chewing on the bottom of his garage. He wanted to know if the Trucker would come and shoot it. What fourteen year old, big buck slayer, tom turkey shooter would turn down that opportunity? If your interested, he said we can go take a picture of the dead porky and post if for you. I'll try to keep finding flower pictures for you!
This morning on my way to work I saw my first fawn of the season. He (or she) stopped in the middle of the road and looked at me for a minute. Then momma must of told him to get a move on and quit dawdling in the street because he took off running. Well, he tried to take off running. He had all of his legs moving but he wasn't moving. After a couple seconds, he got it all figured out and got out of the road. I wish I would have had a camera with to take a picture of him. Although he probably would not be as nice to see as a dead porky!
Last little fun tidbit for me to blog about...my oven got fixed today! Woohoo! The oven fix it guy came this morning while I was at work. The King and I had quite a chuckle thinking about the oven guy laying on the floor fixing the oven with Toad helping him. Whenever you are on the floor around here, Toad is right there to see if he can help. I'm sure a little basset hound slobber and drool probably made the new gas valve go on much smoother!
I need to go try out the new and improved gas valve now. I have been craving some rhubarb crunch. It was also a friend's birthday last week. His favorite pie is pecan pie. One pecan pie and pan of rhubarb crunch coming right up!
