Opening Weekend!

Tomorrow is opening day of fishing season in Wisconsin. I grew up with people all around me who liked to fish, I like to fish. But at 4:30 am? No way, not me! The King will be getting up at 4:00 tomorrow morning so that he can leave the house by 4:30 and be on the water by 5:00. I love him dearly, but sometimes I wonder about his sanity! It is hilarious to hear people talk around this area about what they will be doing this weekend, every thing revolves around what time and where they will be fishing. The King will be back home sometime mid-day, catch a snoozer, then back out on the water again. My thought would be to sleep until a more reasonable hour, then fish all day and catch a snooze in the boat if one is needed. As I said, I like to fish, but kicking back in your seat or laying across the bench seat and snoozing in the middle of the day on the water with the sun beating down is quite a nice feeling.

Tomorrow our church youth group is doing highway clean up for a few hours. After that the Princess has worship practice. Then she will be fishing with a couple of friends, hoping to hit the evening bite.

Trucker will also be participating in the highway cleanup tomorrow. What do you think he is doing when he is done with that? You guessed it, fishing!

My Aunt, Uncle, cousin and his girlfriend all came up for this weekend. What do you think they came up for? Fishing!

I can also tell you that the phones will be ringing like crazy tomorrow night. Everybody figuring out where everybody else was at, what they caught, what bait they were using and what time the fish were biting.

I am contributing my part now. I have a pan of cinamon rolls in the oven baking. The King will be taking them with him in the morning to share with the guys that he is fishing with. Once he is gone, I will hunker back down in a nice snuggly bed and be in dreamland! I will be waiting for warmer weather and later mornings before I will be fishing. Actually, my favorite fishing is musky fishing so I have to wait until the end of May for that any way. Plus, fall is my favorite time to be on the water chasing the big ones.

Here is a picture of the King with one of his bigger muskies! I have not caught one that size yet, but trust me, when I do you'll see a pic on here! You might even hear he hoopin' and hollerin'!
