It's The Weekend

pic courtesy of the Princess - I think it is a close up of the lawn in Dyersville, Iowa, where the movie Field of Dreams was filmed
My day is planned out for me, I think. I need to get the Trucker to two, maybe three lawns that he needs to mow. There is a car show in town that he wants to go to also. Maybe I can talk his Dad into doing the car show thing, that is not too exciting for me. I also need to get a bowl of potato salad made for our church potluck tomorrow. While waiting in the van for the Trucker to get his lawns mowed, I will be preparing tomorrow's Sunday school lesson.
The Princess started her summer job last night. This is her third summer at the same place, but this year she is waitressing. I don't know how many people eat out these days due to the economy, but still a good skill to know. I've known several college students who waited tables a day or two a week for some extra cash. One girl who used to work with the Princess held two waitressing jobs for all of her college summers, she finished college debt-free! She was a hard working, smart young lady. I'm sure a few well earned scholarships helped, too!
The oven repair guy (they are called service techs, now) was here yesterday. The gas valve that goes to the oven is shot. I guess that is uncommon, so he did not have the part with him. It has to be ordered on Monday, then he will return to fix the oven on Tuesday or Wednesday. Why is it that all of the suppers I want to make the last few days require the oven? Why am I hungry for rhubarb treats - that need the oven to be made? As soon as we can't use something, then we want it the most. When I was a young girl, my grandparents water used to freeze on them once or twice a winter, that was when we all wanted a drink of water!
Have a good weekend everyone.
