More Reasons to Be Thankful

God is good...all the time. And all the time...God is good. I could not help but to think this over and over today. The Princess and H performed their forensic piece at the state level, and they got a gold! To get a gold you have to score twenty-five out of a possible twenty-five points. I was so proud of them!

The Princess calls Grampy to tell him the news, and he tells her that he heard from the Trucker. The Trucker bagged his bird this morning a little after 7:00. He shot a nineteen pound bird with a 9 3/4" beard. Nice work, Trucker!

I was so thankful to God today. Walking down State Street with the Princess, laughing, eating lunch and spending time with her; knowing that the King and Trucker were also spending some quality time together, what more could a Mom ask for. While getting a gold and shooting a turkey is awesome, just the fact that our teenage children want to spend time with us brings joy to me. I know there are many teenagers that don't want to spend time with their parents, better yet let their friends see their parents. It made me feel so good when the Princess came and sat with me on the bus yesterday and today for a part of the ride, even though her friends were on the bus, also. Last night the whole forensic team went to one of the malls in the Madison area. For a while the Princess wandered around with her friends while I was with a friend of mine. She gave me a call to see what store I was in, and I happened to be in a store next to the store she was in. Then we all wandered around together. How many teenagers want to be around the mall with their friends and their Mom at the same time?

I know this is another one of those posts where I am rambling on, but I had so much to be thankful for today. Sometimes it is hard to put it all in words, but God knows what I'm saying. Also thankful for a successful surgery for Mom's eye. One down and one to go!

  1. Congratulations to both the kids on their accomplishments...and also to you and Steve! God IS good ALL the time!

(And, yeah, I had to laugh at the Afghan dough-head too.)
