Headed to State and Out of State

Saturday we were gone all day. Part of the day was watching the Princess and H do their forensics piece for the second round. You perform your piece three times with a different judge watching each time. The most points you can score is 25. You need to have two of the judges give you a 20 or better to make it to state. The Princess and H got a 20, 22 and a 24! That means in a few weeks they will be headed to state to perform at that level! I will be down there to watch. Don't know yet if the King and Trucker will be able to make it or not. That same weekend is also the Trucker's turkey hunting weekend, so the King and Trucker may be listening to turkeys gobble instead! Easter weekend is the turkey youth hunt, if Trucker gets his bird then he cannot hunt his regular weekend. We will have to see how that all plays out!

Spring break starts next week at our school. Friday the Trucker and I are heading to Mom and Marv's for a few days! I think Trucker and Marv are going to be rebuilding an engine in a car. Marv has done this a gazillion times but Trucker has never done it. What a learning experinece it can be for him. He is kind of excited about working with Grandpa Marv and doing this project.

Whatever it takes to keep them busy because Mom and I have some bumming to do! Maybe a few quilt shops, a few lunches out, a few trips to the grocery store (Mom's favorite hangout!) to get some special ingredients for a few new recipes. I love trying new recipes out, but not so fond of the grocery store to get the needed ingredients. I have never been a big fan of grocery shopping. Mom, however, loves the grocery store! She can wander around in there for hours. You would think it was a book store or a quilt shop, the way she can wander around in there!

As the time goes on, I will keep you posted (or blogged) on our happenings down at Mom and Marv's and on how the Princess does at state.

  1. Congrats to our Princess! Always knew that girl was a good (heck, great!) talker. She gets that from you, ya know! People used to ask me if you EVER quit talking. I just lied and said sure, but most of them knew better. You even talked in your sleep!
And I'm not addicted to the grocery store. I'm just not used to feeding young truckers any more. I buy groceries by the bag full, not the truck full. Sure am looking forward to seeing you down here. Better hurry. Marv is hard to slow down once he gets started on a project and the engine is already out of the '57.

  2. Hi Candy! Thought I'd stop by and say hello. You cracked me up with your comment on Cheri's post yesterday.

Have a safe and happy trip and a good visit.
