Corned Beef and Cabbage

pics courtesy or my Mom

Do you have your corned beef and cabbage in the oven or crock pot yet? Normally we do, but this year we will have to wait until tomorrow for the St. Patrick's Day dinner. Today I will be throwing a roast with potatoes and carrots in the oven for everyone to eat whenever they get home. I am taking a class on Excel tonight, the Princess has softball practice and the King has baseball practice tonight. We will all be coming and going at different times, so I want our corned beef and cabbage to be on a night when we can all sit down together and share it.
I looked around our yard for something green to take a picture of for you, but could not find much yet! I looked in our photo file for some green to show you and these were the first ones I saw. These pictures are of my step-sister's flower shop. Aren't they beautiful? Plants in my house don't look any thing like that, so I had to steal her pics!!
I thought about showing a picture of our new garage roof, that is green. The King and Trucker are not done working on it yet, so it is only part green! We had a bad hail storm go through last year and do some damage to our house and garage roof. By the time the insurance work was all done and we received the money, snow was starting to fly, so we will have to finish the garage roof and do the house roof this year.
Be sure to find someone not wearing green today and give them a pinch! Happy St. Patrick's Day.

  1. I'm wearing my green, so no pinch for me! The corned beef and cabbage sounds good, but where's the recipe?? I'll bet the Seniors would like that for their lunch tomorrow. I guess they'll have to settle for green peas (your favorite)in a tuna hotdish. Jackie was looking for somewhere that was serving corned beef and cabbage today and couldn't find it. Maybe she needs to go up to St Paul, bet she'd find it there somewhere today! Along with the green beer to go with it. As for green outside-we have daffodils coming up in front of the church office about 6 inches high already! Woo Hoo!
