Each page has a different block that you can make and a letter that a soldier wrote home to his family. I really enjoy history and the Civil War era is one of my favorite times to read and learn about. As much as I like history and learning about how and what happened, I like the personal side of history the best. Reading copies of actual letters or diaries really interests me. Or maybe I am just nosy (no, not noisy)! I have been eyeing this book up for quite some time but never got around to buying it. Last night I guess I caved and could not hold out any longer! Especially knowing that the King would be gone over night and that I could lay in bed and read as long as I wanted without disturbing him. At 12:30 in the morning I finally turned off the light for the night. I got up this morning and finished reading the book.
I wasn't a slug all day, though. I made sticky buns this morning for the Princess, Trucker and I for breakfast. In the middle of the day I made three loaves of lime coconut bread for church tomorrow. Right now I have a chocolate cream cheese pound cake in the oven which is also for church. It was in between the baking that I finished the book.
Now I have to decide if I want to go read another book that I have been reading through, clean the kitchen and bathroom floors, do some laundry, do the dishes or go to the quilt room and see what kind of magic (or mess) I can make! Maybe I better lay on the couch for a while and think that all through. That is a lot of choices to ponder!
Have a good rest of the weekend everybody!
Well, Bug, if you want an expert opinion (even if you don't) I would suggest that you follow your last option. Momentous decisions need to be thought over carefully and judiciously, and this is best done from a prone position. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
ReplyDeleteGood thing you didn't get to comment for a couple of days, Mom! I did everything on that list except the floors!
