A Nice Thought

Both of our pastors were out of town yesterday, and one of the members of our congregation gave the message. He spoke on a few different things, but one item he mentioned came back to my mind several times through the day.

In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. John 14:2,3

Jeff asked us what we thought that place would be like. If God created the heavens, earth, light, land, water, birds, animals, plants, trees and Man in six days, what will this place be like that He has been working on for around 2,000 years? A house with many rooms makes me think of a mansion. I love to tour through old mansions, but a mansion that takes over 2,000 years to prepare? I think it will be an awesome sight! I am also assuming that there won't be any dirty windows (like my house) or dust bunnies (like my house)! The joke a few times around here has been dust rhinoceros or dust elephants! All kidding aside, I enjoyed Jeff's message yesterday. I have read those verses many times but never thought about the time factor, six days in comparison to 2,000 years.

Christmas break is over here. Jess and Walk are back to school today. Bummer! I like school vacations when they are home with me! That also means my vacation is over. Back to cleaning the house up, working in our church office two days a week, subbing in the school and driving the kids around the country side!

Today my niece, Devin, flies to Florida from the Twin Cities. Actually, she may already be down there. If you read this Devin, have a safe and fun vacation!
