A Day With Trucker

Last Tuesday Trucker and I went to the big city 90 miles from us where you have to go for some major shopping. Our closest mall, Gander Mountain, Sam's Club and Fleet Farm are there. We had to be in town for an appointment at 9:00 am, after that the rest of the day was ours to spend. Trucker had the day planned for us! Once we got the appointment out of the way we were off to Gander Mountain (an outdoor sporting goods store). We bumbled through there for over an hour, most of which time was spent looking at guns. Trucker did lots of dreaming in those aisles! Next we went to lunch. He must have worked up quite an appetite looking at all of those guns and the fishing equipment because he ate lots! We went to Buffalo Wild Wings and he had the Big Jack Daddy Burger. What a burger that thing was! It is a burger with pulled pork, onion rings, lettuce, tomato and onions all on the burger! And it comes with fries! It was quite an impressive looking plate of food. I saw him eyeing up the dessert menu while we were waiting for our food, but he knows that we very seldom buy dessert. Not that I have any thing against dessert, it just costs more than I want to pay. Thinking that he was stuffed when he was done eating and that it would be a little chuckle, I asked him if he wanted dessert. He jumped at that chance. Down the hatch went a piece of deep dish apple pie, with ice cream, covered with warm caramel sauce! Oh, to be able to eat like that and not look like a whale. Those of you who have already raised boys are probably used to this, but I am still in the process of getting used to that! After Buffalo Wild Wings, we went to Trucker's favorite spot, a Peterbilt dealer. This is where he saves his money up for. (Yesterday a girl from church told him he should be getting paid from Peterbilt for being a walking advertisement for them!) Sam's came next and we loaded up on some of the items that I know are cheaper there than they are in our local store. We still had one more stop to make though, Fleet Farm, or is it Farm and Fleet? Which ever one it is, we went there and wandered around a bunch more. While this may not sound like a very exciting day to many of you, it was a perfect day for our Trucker.

I am very thankful for these kind of days, just the Trucker and I or just the Princess and I. Time spent together, sometimes talking or laughing and sometimes just being together with no noise. I know that the time is coming when they will be living who knows where and our days together will not be as often, so I try not to take them for granted now.

Thanks for a fun day Trucker! I love you.

Exactly. I can't even look at food like that without looking like a whale!

  3. Cheri - I never saw a whale walk/run a few miles a day. I don't think you have any thing to worry about.

Lora - What can I say to that? You are a dandy!!
