It definitely feels like the Christmas season now. Mom found a recipe for white fudge for me that I tried yesterday. The King said it wasn’t quite the same as Grandma Hahn’s, but it must have tasted good because the whole pan is gone today!
Our Noah Weather Radio went off twice today to warn us of a winter storm that will be here tomorrow. The weathermen are predicting 8”-14” of snow for us. That will certainly make it seem Christmasy. It even has the kids hoping for a snow day already!
To add to the Christmas season, I baked some bread today which will be given away for presents. I just took Christmas Angel cookies out of the oven, which will also be given away.
And to top off today’s fun – I just heard from a friend of ours that he will be visiting us from the 19th – 22nd. We can’t wait to see you Dan the Man! He will leave on the 22nd , we will celebrate Christmas with Grampy and Miss Joy on the 23rd and Mom and Marv will be here on the 24th! I am getting in the Christmas spirit now!

Candy, thank you once again for your continued hospitality to that boy. Put him to work! He knows how to use a snow shovel!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the White Fugde was a hit. I think the missing ingredient is "Memories". Nothing can compare with that. It's why daughters-in-law can't make their husbands favorite dishes as good as their mothers-in-law, no matter how hard they try sometimes. That and the fact that mothers-in-law always leave out something from the recipe when they pass it on. I know this because my sister and I worked for years to make beef soup as good as Grandma's. My mother never got it just right. Grandma finally told me we always forgot the barley. We forgot it because for 40 yrs she never told us it was in there!
ReplyDeleteGlad you're having a busy and wonderful time. We're looking forward to being there. Now if the snow will just hold off while we're on the road.
Cheri - Put him to work? He will be on vacation! As always, he is always welcome here. You raised a great young man, he is a joy to be around.
ReplyDeleteMom - I can't believe she forgot to tell you the barley. That is one of the main ingredients! Do you think that was a slip or deliberate?
