More Quilt Talk

Here is the quilt I mentioned last week that I sewed for the the King. I’m tellin’ ya, if ya need a homemade gift in a hurry, buy a panel and two yards of material, the face of your quilt will be done in a day. I had one yard of the orange material and one yard of the stone material, and that was plenty. The inner and outer borders are three inches and the middle border is five inches. That made a nice lap size quilt.

Sorry I have not blogged in a few days again. We were gone over the weekend and yesterday I forgot! Over the weekend we were at the King’s parent’s house. We spend a lot of time there in the fall. They live near the hunting shack and the King and Trucker generally have to be (want to be!) at the shack a couple of weekends before deer season to get wood made and make sure the deer hunting stands are safe. We are usually over there one or two other weekends every fall to help them butcher the meat. They raise pigs and a cow or two every year for us. Is that tremendous or what?

This past weekend we were there because the guys had a work weekend at the shack. Carol, the Princess and I met Kelly (my sister-in-law) in another town and we spent the afternoon shopping and eating lunch together. I love those times together.

One of the shopping stops was a quilt store, of course! I purchased some material to make a quilt for our niece who is expecting her first baby in January. Our niece’s baby shower is next month, so I need to get cuttin’!
