While at Dan and Carol's over the weekend, Carol and I had to visit the quilt shop. What would a visit be with Carol if we didn't hit up a quilt shop?! I bought a package of five Christmas fat quarters and made this table runner. This runner only needs three fat quarters for the front and only takes two hours to make. I still have to put the backing on it.
I'm glad I had to work on this runner. It saved me having to help butcher chickens! That's a smelly, gross job! Trucker was the decapitator. Is that a word? He didn't seem to mind it. That must be a guy thing!
Dan and Carol raised forty-five chickens this year. They butchered fifteen two weeks ago, fifteen this past weekend and they have fifteen more to go. They also raise beef and pigs every year. For Christmas we always get half of a beef and a whole pig all cut up, wrapped and ready for the freezer. I love that. Between that and venison we very seldom have to buy any meat. Once in a while we will buy shrimp for a treat, but that is it!
Where is the title on this little post hmmmmm?

Love the runner! And what a great excuse to get out of beheading chickens!
ReplyDeleteJess and Helen - You guys are too funny! I completely forgot to title that post. I'm glad I have you two to watch out for me!
ReplyDeleteCheri - You're not kidding. I would much rather work on a runner than behead chickens.
