Last time Mom was here, she left a charm packet with me and asked if I would make her a table runner. Certainly, I can do that. Most of the charms were shades of blue or tan, so I thought red or yellow would be a good contrast color. When I went to the quilt shop looking around, I saw a red I liked and went with that. After I started sewing all the colors together, I realized it looked like a Christmas table runner! Lesson learned...I should have gone with the yellow. Blues, tans and red look like Christmas. Oh well, I don't think she has a Christmas runner. I did not see this picture until now. It does not look too Christmas-like here. Now that the whole thing is done, maybe I'll have to look at it again and see if I still think it looks like Christmas!
Working on the runner got the Princess and I in the sewing mood. Yesterday and today we spent several hours in the sewing room, working away. She is working on a quilt made out of all polka dot material. I started working on a quilt for Trucker. Today I got twenty-one fat quarters all cut up, now I need to get the background material cut. Then it will be time to start sewing. I was hoping to have it done by his birthday, which is in October. Trucker thinks I should be able to have it done in one month! What a slave driver!
Kids are like that. Slave drivers, I mean. My own kid has me so backed up on projects for this winter that I may go cross-eyed. Oh well, maybe it will keep me to busy to shovel snow, dust, clean, vacum, do laundry or cook??
