I caught Trucker and Toad catching a snooze on the couch yesterday. Toad woke up as soon as I moved over by them to get a picture, but I still love the picture. It is the background on our computer now. They were both sound asleep, so they must both be comfortable, but I don't know how they could be. Poor Toad is being used as a pillow and Trucker's 6'1" frame is only using half of a short couch.
This is not the only thing Toad got caught at yesterday. The King's lunch box is a soft sided, close with velcro box. After I packed his lunch yesterday morning, I left his box on the kitchen floor and left the room. I thought I heard Toad rummaging around in the kitchen, but as I went to see what he was in, the noise stopped. A few minutes later I heard the noise again. The King was on his way into the kitchen, so I continued on with what I was doing. Then I heard the the distinct sound of a hand swatting the back end of a dog and the King telling Toad, "You leave that alone, that is my lunch." "Get out of here, go lay down." Then I heard Toad running to the back of the house by the Princess's bedroom. Did he think she was going to save him?
I asked the King later what Toad was doing. He said, "That stinkin' dog had my water bottle out of the lunch box and laying on the floor, and had one of my sandwiches out of the box and most of the way devoured!"
At least he left your water alone! I guess he learned not to get caught and you learned no to leave the lunch box on the floor. I mean, talk about temptation! That's just not fair. Would (or could) Trucker ignore a butterscotch pie on the counter?? Would you ignore free Fat Quarters in a quilt shop?? Would the Princess ignore free gas cards?? Would the King ignore a free fishing trip to Canada?? I think Toad deserves an apology and a free sandwich!
