I had quite an enjoyable Mother's Day weekend. I am hoping that all of you Moms out there were able to have a fun, relaxing, time spent with family weekend also. The Princess had a double header softball game west of Wausau Saturday. Last week, Mom and Marv were talking about getting a motel and taking in her games, but the weather forecast wasn't looking to good. They did not know if they wanted to drive 185 miles on Friday, to get a call Saturday morning that the games were cancelled. The forecast got changed from cold, windy and rainy to just windy and cold, so Friday morning they decided to go. As soon as they said they were going, I got my stuff done around here and I took off, too. We met at the motel Friday afternoon, went out for a fish fry and spent the rest of the evening visiting. The weather forecasters were right about Saturday; no rain, but it was cold and windy. That was okay though, we still got to spend the majority of the day together and watch the Princess play some softball. Thanks for the mini vacation Mom and Marv!
It is not to often that I am traveling by myself. I love to ride in the car with my family, but it is nice to be by yourself sometimes, too. I stopped at the quilt shop and spent the better part of an hour browsing, knowing that there wasn't anyone waiting in the car for me bored to death. Another bonus...the quilt shop was having a huge Mother's Day sale! Did they see me coming or what? A few charm packets, fat quarters, three yards of material and a kit later, I figured I better get out of there or I wouldn't have enough money left over for gas to get to the game! After leaving there, I went to the bulk food store. Ya gotta love that place, too! I had to buy a few little snackies to help make the trip, you know! Once I had my chips and banana nut bread biscotti, it was smooth sailing the rest of the way.
Sunday we started the day out at church and then came home and lounged around. I got some reading done and a little nap in, too! The Princess made us shrimp scampi for supper, ya gotta love that. The King and Trucker went fishing in the evening and brought home some crappies. That means another fish fry coming up!
What more could you ask for on Mother's Day weekend? I got to spend some time with my Mom and with my children. We didn't get to see the King's Mom, but I did talk to her on the phone Sunday morning.

Thanks to both You and the Princess, and to Marv for taking me, I also had a great Mother's Day weekend. Add in the fact that my step-daughter fixed us a great salmon dinner on Sunday and you're right - it doesn't get much better. She fixed the salmon with a lemon, dill & caper sauce. Now I know what the heck a caper is and I know that they are edible!! That recipe will go in my file. Thanks and love to all of my girls!
