Jump Drive
Several weeks ago I registered for a class on Excel through our local college. When I got the papers in the mail a week or so later, I put them on the desk and did not think another thing of them. The first night of class rolled around last week and I grab the envelope off of the desk to open it and verify where the class is. I was right about the location of the class, but that was the only thing I had right. The registration paper informs me I need a jump drive and I have to purchase a book for the class. Rats, I need to leave the house in about ten minutes! Nothing like being organized. I purchased a jump drive last summer for a computerized accounting class I took and put the jump drive in the desk when the class was over. As it turned out, I bought that jump drive for nothing, we never used it. I am ripping the desk apart looking for the jump drive - cannot find it any where. Then I remember that the Princess has it, she needed it for some school assignment. Now I am trying to decide if I want to be unprepared for class with no jump drive or if I want to be late for class because I stopped to buy another one. During all of this I am also thinking about how much money we have, or don't have, hoping I have enough to buy the book I need! When I sub in the school and students are this prepared, it drives me crazy. It is even worse when it is me! I run to our Pamida to check out the jump drives, they have one kind and it costs $30.00. Forget it, I'm not paying that. I go to WalMart, they have one for $9.00, fine, I took it. Get to the campus, buy my book (thank the Lord the book was $15.00 less than what my papers told me it would cost!) and made it to class with ten minutes to spare and with all necessary supplies. We didn't need or use the jump drive! The class is a two night class with tonight being the last night, hmmm....I wonder if we will use the jump drive tonight. I also wonder what the roads will be like to get there, it is raining out now and 34* out. Might be a slow ride driving the thirty miles back home if it freezes. At least I have a brand new jump drive though!!

Hi Candy,
ReplyDeleteCatching up on your blog after being away. Wish I could have seen you!
I am glad you were able to get the book and the jump drive in the nick of time. I hate it when stuff like that happens!
Nathan keeps his jump drive on his key chain. That way he (hopefully) always knows where it is.
Take care and keep up the good writing!
