It was a long day today. I subbed in the middle school office, and what a day it was in there! After I was done at school, I had to run an errand in town, then take Trucker to a lake to go ice fishing, then I had to go to the church office to work there for a while.
Call me a slug, or a lazy bum, a whiner or all of the above; but I did not feel like going to church to work. I just wanted to come home, change into my sweats and read for a bit. I didn't come home though, I went to church to get the bulletins done.
Half way through the bulletins, a friend stopped in. She stopped in to talk to Pastor, but he was not in the office tonight. S. ended up staying and visiting for 1/2 hour! I had the honor of chaperoning several youth trips with two of her children. It was a nice time chatting with her about what is going on in both of our lives. It was nice to catch up on how her two children (who are now adults!) are doing in their lives; both of them in college and one engaged to be married this June!
S. had to leave at 5:30 to go pick her younger daughter up from basketball practice. After she left it made putting the rest of the bulletins together go fast! It was just the break I needed. A chance to catch up with a friend.
Do you have a friend you have not talked to in awhile? Give him or her a call. Maybe you will be able to share a few laughs or a few tears. Maybe you will be blessed enough to do both! Thanks, S., it was nice chit-chatting with you!

Sitting here racking my brain, trying to figure how who S. is. Got it! Her kids are D., L. and T. Tell her hi from me!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure she enjoyed the break as much as you did!
You are correct! Next time I am going to use an initial from a middle name, or just make up an initial to throw you off! Just kidding!
