Best Day of My Life!

I had fun spending the morning with three young children today while their Mama went to work. I was hoping to be able to take them for a walk, but -20* wind chills prevented that. Instead we made a pan of brownies, read books and finger crocheted. E., who is in 3rd grade did the crocheting. She made me a pink scarf, which she told me made me look like a young lady when she put it around my neck. I asked her if this meant I usually look like an old hag, she assured me that was not the case. Whew!

E. pulled her chair into the kitchen to watch her sister, A., who is 5, and I make brownies. When we were getting ready to make the frosting, A. told me this was the best day of her life! How sweet is that? I was ready to let her live with us forever.

The little boy (whose name also starts with an E) is three. He was just like having a mini Trucker around again. As soon as he walked into our living room, he spotted some trucks on our shelves. He wanted to know if he could play with them. Certainly. Having a little boy driving trucks around the living room brought back alot of precious memories. We also let him frost the brownies. It wasn't the best frosting job I've ever seen, but they still tasted yummy.

I can't wait to watch them again! Next time E (the 3rd grader) wants to learn how to crochet with a hook. I will teach her how to do that and she is going to teach me how to finger crochet. E (the little boy) wants to make cookies next time. As for A, what can we do next time? Today was already the best day of her life, I don't think we can top that!

I won't be posting tomorrow. We will be spending time with the King's parents and maybe his sister and brother-in-law. We have some fun stuff planned to do with them, maybe I will have some pictures to post for you on Monday. You all have a great weekend.

  2. Walk and I liked the Guadalupe Beef (Venison) Pie. Steve does not care for anything with a crust, so he scraped the top off and liked that part! Jess was not home, so who knows what she would think of it! How is Miss Tess doing?
